Volleyball on the water is certainly one of the most popular events in Ljubljana. Its innovative design has conquered the world, as more than 73 million people have seen the event’s video post on @visitljubljana Tik Tok profile. After two highly successful promotional editions of larger events, Volleyball on Water became an independent event in 2023, presenting the world’s first international water volleyball tournament to the public on a floating, partially submerged and illuminated platform. The championship and the spectacle on the water will be accompanied by attractive performances in the supporting programme. The unique floating court gives a special impression of the movement of the volleyball players on the surface of the water. The spectacle on the water is a great opportunity to showcase the pulse of our capital internationally and to enrich the summer street scene for people passing by. It is also the best possible promotion for popularising volleyball and sport in general.
